CLASSROOMS

Lansing is housed in a welcoming, single-story building specifically designed to feel like a home away from home for young children and their families. Located on the corner of Church Avenue and Kenneth Avenue in North York, the school is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy access for drop-off and pick-up. The building features extra-large windows in every classroom, filling the learning spaces with natural light and creating a bright, cheerful atmosphere throughout the day.
The thoughtful layout includes wide entrance doors, spacious hallways, and open classroom designs that ensure the entire facility is fully wheelchair- and stroller-accessible. Classrooms are equipped with child-sized furnishings and a variety of learning materials that support play-based exploration and creativity. There are cozy reading corners, dramatic play areas, and open-ended activity stations designed to spark imagination and foster a sense of belonging.
Lansing also places a high priority on cleanliness and safety. All rooms—including classrooms, washrooms, and shared spaces—are professionally cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis to maintain high hygiene standards. The result is a nurturing and safe environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Program Classrooms

Program classrooms are bright and cheerful, with extra-large windows and bold primary colour schemes.
Each classroom has dedicated child-size washroom attached.

The Red Room is the hands-on creative room, which is shared between all programs.
It features a water table, arts and crafts stations and wipeable work surfaces dedicated to messy art.
Here children can choose from a variety of tactile mediums to express themselves creatively, like play dough, paint, crafting supplies and water.

The Blue Room is home to the Morning Nursery Program.
Filled with natural light, it features a number of learning and play areas designed to stimulate cognitive development and imaginative play in young children.
Play-based learning has never been more fun with a small grocery store, library, sand and train tables, puzzles, building blocks and games to choose from!

The Yellow Room is home to the Full-Day Preschool program. This extra-large sunny room is designed to encourage imaginative play and exploration with dedicated areas where preschool children can dress-up, role play, build with blocks and more. During Quiet Time, children read books in the library area or rest on their individual mats.

Loving atmosphere where each child is encouraged to shine

We couldn't be happier! My daughter enjoyed 2 outstanding years at Lansing in the Preschool program, where she thrived. The director and teachers' dedication to the programming and level of care create an energetic and loving atmosphere where each child is encouraged to shine. Each week brought on a new adventure in learning and my daughter was genuinely excited to go to preschool everyday. There is a true community feeling and spirit among the parents and staff alike. Lansing Cooperative Nursery School is truly a wonderful place for preschoolers.
