Free play encourages children to participate in activities building creativity, cognition, small and gross motor skills. Activities include art, puzzles, play dough, block building, sand, water and dramatic play. Morning Meeting teaches children language, math and science skills through the creative use of stories, singing, making music and games. Outdoor play includes free play in the sand pit, jungle gym and playhouses, or playing the various toys and games set up by the teachers. Talk to other parents, the teachers, or simply watch your child at play with friends. |
I initially registered my little guy on the 3-day Nursery program as I was unsure how he would handle being away at school. My fears were completely unfounded. The caring Lansing teachers and parents create a "school home" away from home. Within a week, he couldn't wait to go to school every day. He even asked on weekends (though I suspect the extremely well-stocked train table had something to do with it!). |
